Locations: Montgomery, NY and Fishkill, NY

Position Overview: 

The Accounting Assistant will support the bookkeepers by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of financial transactions and records. This role is crucial in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our clients' financial data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices, bills, and other financial documents.
• Enter and update financial data in accounting software and spreadsheets.
• Reconcile bank statements and assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Support the preparation of tax documents and filings.
• Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for financial records.
• Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable.
• Communicate with clients and vendors to resolve billing and payment inquiries.
• Assist with payroll processing and related documentation.
• Perform data entry and clerical duties to support the accounting team.

Qualifications:

• Be a self starter: a person who can work effectively without regularly needing instruction on what to do. 
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Proficiency in common accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
